Remote launches

call ahead- reservations are required: 504-233-0686

At Canoe and Trail Adventures we love to mix it up. We offer different tour locations to explore a variety of habitats. Detailed directions are automatically sent in your confirmation email once your reservation is completed. Most of these locations are lacking facilities so be sure to make a restroom stop before driving to the meeting area.

Here are just a couple of our outing locations. Again reservations are required, please do not drive to these locations without calling ahead as we do not transport extra canoes/kayaks or equipment for walk-ups.
Looking for transportation from New Orleans?  We offer two convenient pick-up locations

Cane Bayou Launch

our main location hosting our “Full Flavor” Tour & most Twilight Paddles™

Cane Bayou is a waterway that flows into Lake Pontchartrain from the Northshore. Located between Mandeville and Lacombe, Louisiana, Cane Bayou is the boundary between two public lands – Fontainebleau State Park to the west and Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge to the east. Just 40 minutes from New Orleans, Cane Bayou offers plenty of variety for canoe and kayakers.

Manchac Wetlands Launch

host some Moonlight Paddles™ and by request

The Manchac wetlands are bordered on the east by Lake Pontchartrain. On the north, the wetlands surround Lake Maurepas and then extend towards Baton Rouge. The southern border is the high ground that parallels the Mississippi River. Interstates I 10 and I 55 slice through the wetlands mostly on elevated sections. The forested wetlands cover approximately 200 square miles where the ground is neither high and dry nor under water. Foot travel through these woods would be extremely difficult.
